With CES 2010 only days away, Samsung has just made the NX10 interchangeable-lens camera official. As promised, the compact NX10 features a large 14.6 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor alongside a 3.0 inch AMOLED monitor, 720p video, and an electronic viewfinder. A trio of lenses accompany the launch of the "hybrid" NX10.
That show of shows, the 2010 International CES, is just a week away. The Las Vegas Convention Center will play host to much of the consumer technology industry as manufacturers showcase their latest and greatest - digital imaging included. Take a look at our some of our predictions for CES 2010 and check back next week for coverage from the show floor.
When the Samsung DualView TL225 was announced a few months ago, it inspired comments like "Why didn't anyone think of this before?" The small LCD on the front of the camera takes the guesswork out of self-portraits and group photos via self-timer. Our full review is on the way, but in the meantime take a first look at those dual LCDs at work in our video preview.
Samsung has announced the HZ25W, a 12.5 megapixel ultrazoom with a 24x Schneider-Kreuznach optical zoom lens. The lens provides a 35mm equivalent focal range of from 26mm to 624mm. The HZ25W also features 720p HD video in H.264 format.
Samsung announces today the CL65 with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It's also equipped with built-in geo-tagging and boasts an impressive 1,125K resolution 3.5 inch touch LCD. Add 720p HD video recording into the mix and you've got a little camera with a lot going on. Read on for more details.
Samsung unveiled today the TL220 and TL225, a pair of slim 12.2 megapixel shooters each armed with not one, but two LCDs. In addition to a touch screen on the back panel, each camera sports a 1.5 inch LCD on the front. These new DualView Cameras offer 720p HD video recording and a 4.6x wide angle lens.
In the run up to PMA 2009, Samsung announced four new SL-series point-and-shoots. In a summer refresher that fills in some features and cost gaps in Samsung's premium point-and-shoot series, the manufacturer today unwrapped two more 5x zoom SL models - the Samsung SL502 and Samsung SL720.
Samsung got the jump on other manufacturers in announcing the NX series - a line of concept cameras that put an APS-C sensor into a compact body. Prototypes were on display at Samsung's PMA booth today, helping to clear up some confusion about where Samsung is headed with the NX concept.
PMA 2009 doesn't officially open for another day, but Samsung's already trying to steal the show with the announcement of its NX concept camera. Using an APS-C sensor and removing the mirror box for a full-time live view shooting experience (a la the Micro Four Thirds system), this interesting concept may be Samsung's ticket to a leadership role in the camera market.
In the quiet after the storm of new camera announcements last week, Samsung has introduced the TL320. Billed as the first digital camera to feature an AMOLED display with HVGA resolution, the 12.2 megapixel TL320 ultracompact also offers a 5x wide angle lens, manual exposure controls, and retro styling.
Is it a compact? Is it an ultrazoom? The Samsung HZ15W, announced this morning, is both. Boasting a 10x optical zoom lens, it will be one of the most powerful ultrazooms on the compact digital market. Sharing the previously announced HZ10W's 24-240mm Schneider zoom lens, the HZ15W offers a larger display, more resolution, and HD video capture as well.
In anticipation of PMA, Samsung has updated its SL series of point-and-shoot models to include four new offerings: the wide-angle, HD-video ready Samsung SL820, the premium Samsung SL620, and the budget-friendly Samsung SL202 and SL30.
