Pentax has announced a new promotion where you can test drive one of their K series digital SLRs and get a chance to win a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. From now until December 31, 2006, all you have to do is visit a participating retailer and test drive a Pentax K100D or K110D.

Pentax K100D Digital Camera First Thoughts

Thirty years after that first K1000 rolled off a production line in Japan, Pentax has introduced its digital doppelganger, the Pentax K100D. Point & shoot digital cameras have dominated the photography marketplace for most of the past decade, but reasonably priced entry level dSLRs are now the fastest growing segment of that lucrative market. Entry-level digital SLRs allow photographers to move to the next creative level by providing affordable access to modular imaging devices and interchangeable lenses.

Pentax Optio W20 Waterproof Digital Camera Announced

Pentax has announced the Optio W20, the latest camera in its line of Optio waterproof digital cameras. While it looks the same as its predecessor, the W10, it upgrades some hardware and adds some features. The W20 shoots at 7 megapixels, has a 2.5 inch LCD, a 3x optical zoom, and will support SDHC cards. Look for the Pentax Optio W20 in September for under $300.

Pentax Optio S7 Digital Camera Announced

The Pentax Optio S7 is a new addition to the slim and stytlish S line of Pentax Optio cameras. A successor to the S6, the S7 features a 7 megapixel sensor, 2.5 inch LCD (with 232K pixels), 3x optical zoom, and some of Pentax' newer technologies, like Face Recognition AF & AE. The S7 will be available on a limited basis in September for under $300.

Pentax Announces K100D and K110D Digital SLR Cameras

Pentax is announcing the introduction of two new digital SLR cameras. The 6.1 megapixel K100D and K110D also represent a new naming scheme (no more *ist cameras!). Along with the two new cameras, Pentax is also announcing the PENTAX DA 21mm F3.2 AL Limited wide angle lens. Look for the K100D, with the smc 18-55mm lens in July 2006 for $699 and the K110D with same lens for $599 in August.
