Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 Digital Camera Announced

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 is all about wide. This successor to the LX1 sports a wide angle lens, a wide format CCD, and a wide LCD. All that and it looks good too. The LX2 is a 10.2 megapixel camera and it will be available in September at an MSRP of $499.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 Digital Camera Announced

Panasonic has announced the successor to their very popular FZ30 ultra-zoom camera. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 features a 10.1 megapixel sensor and Panasonic's new Intelligent ISO Control system. This 12x zoom, MEGA OIS stabilized camera will be available in September for an MSRP of $649.

Three New Panasonic FX Digital Cameras: Lumix DMC-FX50, Lumix DMC-FX07, Lumix DMC-FX3

Today, Panasonic has announced three new cameras in their "sleek & slim" FX line. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX50 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX07 shoot at 7.2 megapixels, while the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX3 is a 6 megapixel camera. All three cameras feature Panasonic's Intelligent ISO Control (IIC) that can automatically adjust ISO based on the movement of the subject.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-L1 Digital SLR Pricing and Availability

Panasonic has announced pricing and availability for their new digital SLR, the Lumix DMC-L1. It will be available in the US in September for a suggested retail of $1999 (body with Leica D Vario-Elmart 14-50mm lens). It will be available in Japan sometime in July.

Prosumer digital cameras fall into a gray area somewhere between consumer point & shoot digital cameras and entry-level digital SLR cameras. Despite that uncertain classification, they have become increasingly more popular over the past few years. Panasonic's recently introduced Lumix DMC-FZ7 could be the poster child for this class of enhanced usability digital cameras.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 and Lumix DMC-FX01 Digital Cameras Announced

Panasonic has announced the Lumix DMC-TZ1, the world's smallest 10x optical zoom camera, and the Lumix DMC-FX01, the world's smallest camera with a 28mm (35mm equivalent) lens. It seems like they have a thing for the "world's smallest ______". Anyway, they will both be available in March and both will be available for $349.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 Digital Camera Announced

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 is the newest addition to the Panasonic Lumix line, succeeding the FZ5. The FZ7 adds a 6 megapixel sensor to the popular ultra-zoom camera line. The Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 12x optical zoom lens ranges from 36-432mm (35mm equivalent) and the MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer keeps things clear on those long shots. It will be available in March for $399.95.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5, DMC-LZ3, and DMC-LS2 Digital Cameras Announced

During CES, Panasonic has announced three new digital still camera models. The Lumix DMC-LZ5 and Lumix DMC-LZ3 feature improved LCDs and faster auto focus. The Lumix DMC-LS2 is an affordable camera that inlcludes Panansonic's optical image stabilization. All three cameras are slated to be available in March. The LZ5 will be $279, the LZ3 will be $229, and the LS2 will be $199.
