Sony launches ultra-compact interchangeable lens camera concept

At a press conference this morning, Sony kicked off PMA 2010 by launching a new alpha ultra-compact interchangeable lens concept. They showed a trio of mock-up cameras and revealed very limited preliminary specs about the system and a new Exmor APS HD MOS sensor.

PMA 2010: Hands-on with Nikon's latest wide angle lenses

Nikon let a group of reporters loose on a crop of newly released Coolpix cameras and wide angle Nikkor lenses on the eve of PMA 2010. We put the Nikkor 24mm f/1.4 and 16-35mm f/4 lenses to work coupled to a D3S. Take a look at our full-res samples from the event.

Canon EOS Rebel T2i borrows from 7D, T1i feature set

Canon announces today the arrival of a new digital Rebel - the Canon EOS Rebel T2i. The Rebel XSi drops out of their entry-level line to make way for the new flagship T2i. It boosts the feature set of the T1i with a sensor nearly identical to the almost-pro Canon EOS 7D. They introduce the T2i with a price starting under $1000.

Olympus E-PL1 Hands-On Preview

Promotional materials on Olympus's site last week featured the image of a mystery PEN camera obscured by a hand. Today, they move that hand away and reveal the third Micro Four Thirds system in their digital PEN series, the E-PL1. They've offered DCR a first-look, pre-production unit and we've had our hands all over it ever since it arrived.

Olympus E-PL1 debuts, offers Micro Four Thirds Lite

After teasing the release of a new digital PEN camera last week, Olympus has officially taken the wraps off the E-PL1. It's their third Micro Four Thirds model, a step-down alternative to the E-P1 and E-P2. It compromises some of the features and build quality of the previous models to bring the price down, and it adds a built-in flash to the lineup for the first time.

Samsung NX10 hybrid takes on Micro Four Thirds

With CES 2010 only days away, Samsung has just made the NX10 interchangeable-lens camera official. As promised, the compact NX10 features a large 14.6 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor alongside a 3.0 inch AMOLED monitor, 720p video, and an electronic viewfinder. A trio of lenses accompany the launch of the "hybrid" NX10.

Adobe has announced the immediate availability of Lightroom 2.6, Photoshop Camera Raw 5.6, and DNG Converter 5.6 updates. Versions of the software had previously been available as release candidates for public testing. This wave of releases adds support for the Canon EOS 7D and Nikon D3S.
