The Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z6 has been announced. The Z6 is a 6 megapixel ultra-zoom (12x optical) that includes the same CCD-shift Anti-Shake technology that is in Konica Minolta's Maxxum 7D digital SLR. The camera also features a 2 inch LCD. According to Konica Minolta, 4 AA high-capacity NiMH rechargeable batteries will power the Z6 for approximately 420 shots. The Rapid AF (focusing in 0.2 seconds and wide angle and 0.3 seconds a telephoto) allow photographers to quickly capture their shot. The Z6 will be available in mid-September at a retail of $399.99.

Kodak has garnered some recognition from J.D. Power and Associates for the highest customer satisfaction with their digital cameras in two price categories: $200-399 and $199 or less. Casio has announced the introduction of two cameras to their EXILIM line. The Caiso EX-Z110 and Casio EX-Z120 aim to bring Casio's technical achievements to photographers in a user-friendly camera. The Z120 sports a 7.2 megapixel sensor while the Z100 has a 6 megapixel sensor. Both cameras have a 3x optical zoom, 2 inch LCD and Casio's Anti Shake technology. The Z120 provides 32 Best Shot settings while the Z110 has 28 Best Shot settings. Both cameras will be available in mid-September with the Z110 retailing for $279 and the Z120 for $329.
Kodak's new Easyshare V550 is a well-designed, stylish, compact, and surprisingly capable five-megapixel digicam. Ergonomics are amazingly good for such a tiny camera, with logically placed controls and one of the best user interfaces of any ultra-compact digital camera currently available. The V550 not only looks good (in "pro" black with silver trim), it is a genuinely capable digital camera that will appeal to beginning photographers, amateur shooters just making the jump to digital, casual snap-shooters, family shutterbugs, and space/weight conscious travelers.
