Kodak has officially announced the availability of their EasyShare One digital camera. Introduced at CES at the beginning of the year, Kodak delayed the release of this model earliter this year. Kodak worked up a lot of anticipation for this camera, which has a 4 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, 256MB internal memory and a rotating/flipping 3 inch touchscreen LCD. Not to mention the the use of an 802.11 wireless network when using the Kodak WI-FI card. Their goal is to let you sit on your couch while you send pictures to your Kodak printer. The EasyShare One will be availabe in October for $599 with the Kodak WI-FI card.
If you use a digital camera (I use a Canon EOS Digital Rebel/300D myself) and that camera is an SLR, then it most likely can record images in RAW format. In general, you should record your images at the highest resolution possible. If you only have a small memory card and are worried that you can only record a few RAW images on it, then it's time to buy a bigger card!
So does everyone have an ultra-slim camera announced yet? I thought we were about there, but here comes Casio with the EX-S500 - a slick looking model that is .54 inches thick at its thinnest point. The 5 megapixel, 3x optical EX-S500 comes in orange, gray, or white and features a 2.2 inch LCD. The battery is good for 200 shots and the EXILIM engine includes Anti Shake features to minimize image blur. The camera can also shoot MPEG-4 movies at 640x480 resolution and 30 frames per second (fps). The internal memory (all 8.3MB of it) can expanded with SD/MMC memory cards.
