SanDisk claims its latest Extreme Pro is the “world’s highest capacity SDXC card,” and it’s hard to argue that claim. It packs 512 GB of storage, making it suitable for 4K video recording.
Of course, budding filmmakers can also record full HD on it, and photographers can shoot burst mode until their hearts content. Rated with write speeds as high as 90 megabytes per second (600x) and transfer speeds up to 95 megabytes per second (650X), the Extreme Pro should be able to handle it all, while also enabling rapid data transfer from the camera to a computer for processing.
Action photographers working in rugged conditions should be pleased to learn the Extreme Pro has been tested for continuous performance in a variety of extreme “harsh” conditions. Not only is it said to be “temperature proof” and able to withstand temps from -13 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit, it’s also shock proof, water proof, and even x-ray proof.
Built for use by pro-level photographers or videographers, the SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC card is far from cheap. It costs $799.99 at launch. Don’t lose it!
