Today Fuji announced the X-E2, their newest premium interchangeable lens camera. The X-E2 has a 16.3-Megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor. The X-Trans sensor uses a color filter array that has a highly randomized pixel arrangement. This sensor also has no need for an optical low pass filter. The X-E2 also features a Lens Modulation Optimizer--a first for Fuji interchangeable lens cameras. In addition, the EXR Processor II in the X-E2 promises to more than double the processing speed of the X-E1. The X-E2 also has fast AF speeds and startup time. The camera can shoot 7.0 fps. Fuji has incorporated an "auto switching AF." This allows the camera to combine contrast AF with phase detection AF to give users a faster AF experience.

Fuji's Digital Split Image technology helps users get sharp manual focusing by adjusting focus to line up the four stripes displayed in the central part of the live view. Focus Highlight Peaking is also available.
The X-E1 is packed with advanced shooting features like manually adjustable shutter speed and exposure compensation dials. The X-E2 will also allow users to customize up to four buttons on the top and back of the camera.

The X-E2 has a 2.36 million dot OLED viewfinder. The camera also has a 3-inch LCD screen with 1.04 million dot resolution and reinforced glass. The X-E2 gives users creative a filter function and some of the best film simulations I have ever seen on a camera.
The X-E2 shoots full HD video at 1920x1080 with up to 60fps. Film simulation settings and exposure compensation (+/-2 EV) can be used during movie recording.
Wi-Fi is available on the X-E2 via a button that lets users transfer photos and movies to smartphones, tablets and computers. To connect the X-E2 to a smartphone or tablet, download the free "FUJIFILM Camera Application." The app allows users to transfer up to 30 pictures at a time.
The Fuji X-E2 (body only) will be available in November 2013 for $999.95 in both black, and a two-tone black and silver.
The Fuji X-E2 and XF18mm-55mm (27-84mm) F2.8-4 lens (kit) will be available in November for $1,399.95.
The Fuji X-E2 uses the same X-Mount as the X-Pro1, X-E1 X-M1 and X-A1. All XF and XC lenses work with all X-Series ILCs.
