1. Canon PowerShot G15 (new to list)

The Canon G15 is a step up from most point and shoot cameras. The camera features a 12.1-megapixel 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor with the latest generation Digic 5 Image Processor. This sensor is on the larger size for point and shoot cameras. Also, the Digic 5 has some pretty significant improvements over the last version. The Processor has increased speed and power. It also has improved noise reduction to help the camera reduce grain in high ISO images.

2. Nikon D7100 (previously #1)

The Nikon D7100 is no joke! It has a 24.1MP APS-C sensor, 3.2-inch LCD, weather sealing, dual card slots and produces great image quality. The D7100 is in many ways Nikon's way of showing that APS-C DSLRs still have a place in the world despite how much the ILC market has grown. The camera boasts 24.1MP sensor, 51 point autofocus system, that can autofocus down to f8, 7fps shooting, a 3.2-inch 1,229K dot LCD, ISO 100-6400 natively, dual SD card storage, and weather sealing.

3. Canon PowerShot SX50 HS (previously #3)

[click to view image]Canon introduced the new SX50 HS, the successor to the very popular Canon PowerShot SX40 HS, at the semi-annual Photokina imaging products tradeshow in Cologne, Germany this past fall. The fifth generation Canon PowerShot SX50 HS is an entry-level DSLR-sized point and shoot digital camera that is essentially an evolutionary update; however, at least one of the new features seems almost revolutionary.

 4. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX200V (previously #9)

[click to view image]The HX200V is back up in the charts from dropping to number 9 last month. Although it doesn't have all of the zoom range of the P510, it's 30x optical zoom with Zeiss branding is plenty impressive. It offers GPS tracking, a speedy auto focus system and 1080p HD video recording.

6. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 (new to list)

[click to view image]Full-frame cameras are trending lately, but Sony took the photographic world by surprise when they introduced the RX1--the first compact camera with a full-frame sensor. The camera's $2800 price tag may be out of reach for many people but even so, it's not so easy to dismiss the RX1 either for price or its fixed 35mm lens.

7. Nikon 1 S1 (new to list)

8. Sony NEX-6 (previously #6)

[click to view image]The 16MP Sony NEX-6 packs a powerful punch for a compact ILC. Great image quality,EVF, built-in flash and Wi-Fi make it a fan favorite. With each evolution, Sony's NEX-series continues to improve with broader features and, more importantly, better performance and the Sony NEX-6 is no exception with its hybrid AF system, a real mode dial, standardized hotshoe, and Wi-Fi. And, unlike many of its competitors, this small camera features an electronic viewfinder and a built-in flash.

9. Nikon Coolpix P510(previously #7)

[click to view image]The Nikon Coolpix P510 is primed for action with a 3.0-inch articulated LCD, built-in EVF, 42x optical zoom lens and 1080 HD video recording. It packs in the equivalent of a 1000mm telephoto lens -up until recently, the biggest lens on the market.
