Top 10 Graphic

Summer is here and we’re shedding our shoes and heavy camera gear in favor of those pocketable, point-and-shoot-able, compact cameras. This month, the compacts reigned supreme. Just one lonely interchangeable lens camera occupies our top ten list, the Panasonic GF2, bringing in the rear at #10. Top honors go to the Canon ELPH 300 HS, just ahead of strong competition from Nikon, Sony and Panasonic. Take a look and see how the rankings stacked up.

As always, if you need some help choosing a camera, you can post questions and get feedback from the Digital Camera Review online community by registering for our forums. 1. Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS (previously #1)  Reigning at the top of the list for three months in a row is the PowerShot 300 HS. It sits in a sweet spot just below the touch-capable 500 HS with a solid feature set including 1080p HD video, a Digic 4 processor and great picture-taking capability. Nikon S9100

2. Nikon Coolpix S9100 (first time on the list) – The ink is still drying on our review of the S9100 but that doesn’t stop it from shooting up to the second place on our most-viewed list. It’s easy to understand why when you take into account the S9100’s compact 18x optical zoom lens, 1080 HD video capability and slim form factor.
