  great camera for all in one

PROS: Very well made and the 67mm lens says it all with the weight of the thing. With all the talk of out of control(ca) I have yet to see this in a lot of high contrast pictures I have taken so far. Compred it to my D-80 with some serious lenses and this is an excillent compromise. Have owned other super zoomers and no competition at all(leica,canon). Menus are easy to use. The super macro is insane on quality if you use it properly. Can focus right up on the lens almost. The film simulations in bracket mode are the cat's meow! Great work fuji. yes- the D-80 is better of course but I don't see a landslide here.

CONS: Heavy for some but it helps me hold more stable. Not a mega battery life but two outings and still over half left with well over 120+ pics.. Small flash but the camera does well in dim light from my experience so far. Dynamic range needs to be studied closer as I have had problems looking at the differences. Memory door is lite but so is my e-510 and never torn it off. Have not yet found any horrible problems. The software is around 160meg install and not real impressed with it at all for that kind of bloat-ware size versus features.

  good camera for non pixel peepers.

PROS: great handling camera- love the manual zoom ring. You get a wide angle to 400mm zoom lense that produces good images with great color quality. For a non pixel peeper type person this cam could be an awesome creative tool.

CONS: Most images at the 11 meg setting do not stand up to scrutiny if you like cropping out sections at 100% or higher. It is better at the 6 meg level but you loose dynamic range. Most images out of this camera can match the look of anything out of a DSLR with a consumer grade lens- at least in smaller sized prints. As soon as you look closer at the image via magnification do you see how scetchy the unerlying image quality is. Fine detail particularly in wide angle shots is lost to blurrieness..ie grass and small branch type definitions. Purple and green fringing are very noticable in most high contrast areas and especially as you move to the corners images. Typical barrel distortion for a lens as ambitious as this. I do not know if the camera warrants its price but then again I have not looked at the image quality of similar long zoom digi cams. My feelings are mixed but overall I wouold recommend this as a capable camera for most people.

  S100FS big, bulky, expensive.

PROS: Many features, impressive zoom range, manual zoom, build quality of body, SD card compatible.

CONS: Focusing difficulties in less than ideal light, controls & buttons feel "cheap," very heavy, film simulation modes somewhat overrated, higher ISO settings not suitable for printing even 4" X 6".

  Excelent bridge camera, I'm very pleased with it and have a lot of fun

PROS: Thread for filters (that's great), manual zoom, tilting LCD, improved dinamic range, fd works fine...good bunch of pros

CONS: Sensor size (compared to a DSLR)...uuuh...didn't find more cons (yet)

  Great Camera for Travelling or Hiking, Image quality is still shot of a DSLR.

PROS: I already own several major brands of DSLR cameras, and they do a wonder job for most of the occasions. But I needed a camera for Travelling and Hiking which must be light weight, versatile, does not require multiple lens changes, and it must be able to take good pictures at different ISO setting. The FUJI S100FS appears to be the right match, so I brought one. Over all I was please with the FUJI S100FS, very little image noise can be found at low ISO settings. The Film Simulation Mode and Extended Dynamic Range does work wonderfully, and it does provide noticeable improvements to over all image quality. Pros: Good Lens with Effective Optical and Digital Image Stabilization functions. Good adjustable Flip screen. Takes good pictures at Low Light settings (needs to increase ISO and Lower Aperture Numbers) Great Camera for Travelling (you don’t have to carry a camcorder and a DSLR with multiple lens) Has CCD-RAW Takes great Telephoto at 400mm.(make sure you change the macro setting.) Light Weight It comes with a Lens hood Good Macro Low Image Noise when shooting below ISO 200 Also good camera for beginners and novice user

CONS: Cons: Starting Price at $799, it is too expensive for a Mega Zoom Camera. Picture quality is not as good as a DSLR. Battery is too smaller, but battery Charger is too big and it also comes with a large inconvenience cable Short Battery Life compares to other Mega Zoom Camera Some purple fringing can be found in the picture that I took at some of the night photos Buttons and thumb wheels are not well design Slow Auto Focus Continuous shooting only has 3 Mb at 7 frames/Sec Play back mode is frustrating to use. The 2.5"inch Camera Screen is small compares to other competitors However; most of my negative experiences come from dealing with Aden Camera in Canada. I purchased my new Fuji S100fs from Aden Camera at $620 Canadian + 20.00 Shipping, but they send me a demo with pictures of their store and employee still in the camera. There were finger prints all over the camera screen, and a small scratch at the side of the flip screen’s frame. I called Aden camera, and they refuse to do anything about it. My advise is to wait for this camera to go on sale and try not to buy any expensive camera on line.

  Impressive image quality and a one camera for all purposes

PROS: Impressive image quality with nature color output. I consider the image color is even better than my Nikon D40 camera with standard zoom set. Various professional controls that the prosumer users should consider.

CONS: No TTL flash capability. Rather heavy after used for a long time. Spare battery not readily available.

  Great cam for amatures and profesinals alike with 11mp 14.3 zoom and 2/3" SuperCCD

PROS: 11.1 MegaPixel. 14.3 Optical Zoom. 10000 ISO eqiv. Auto selection of 1600, 800, 400 ISO. Velvia, Provia selections available. Several various bracketing options. Dynamic range upto 400%. Improved face detection. Ability to rotate image in playback mode. Red eye removal feature. Toggle on/off continuous picture numbering when replacing cards.

CONS: No TTL flash. Dificult focusing in lower light. Propietary battery. Does not recharge with USB cable or AC adapter while battery in camera. No option to rechare with 12v car chargers. Propietary remote shutter release. Takes time to become familiar with features and options.

  All in one p & s with DSLR function/likeness and feel plus great zoom range

PROS: great image quality, very smooth specially in lower ISO, hard to differentiate from a dslr. Usable high iso. Focusing is quiet good, same goes with response time. Looks and feels like a dslr, might not be good for people who wants small size bridge camera, zoom works great even in movie mode.Zoom range is great at 28mm to 400mm and its a manual ring. bright lcd, and good evf resolution..

CONS: some pf on high contrast areas (which can be eliminated by pp), manual focus might take awhile to getting used to. weight might be an issue to some coz its not a light camera.might be a bit pricey for a bridge cam. ( i got mine 100 more than s5is)
