PROS: 5 megapixels in such a tiny package...it has relli fast start up time and the videos are longer than before

CONS: ok the zoom isnt as good as the older version but its not bad for basic pictures. the flash causes red eye, but that isnt for sure

superb high quality holiday pocket camera

PROS: Very user friendly,high quality photos,good value ,well made,perfect size,fast respose and takes adequate movies up to available the card capacity.

CONS: Limited flash,custom battery, could have used two AAA's in same size compartment.only 16mb card supplied with camera, poor software.

Minolta Has ZERO Service

PROS: Nice camera; too bad it's Minolta who has the absolute worst customer service, as well as repair service of ANYONE!!

CONS: I wouldn't recommend a Minolta camera to my worst enemy since they CHARGE real money for warranty repairs and when a person attempts to contact them they don't reply. I've posted my comments about this worthless company many places, including planetfeedback.com, and they still don't reply! Go spend your money on a camera that has REAL customer service and a company that doesn't charge for warranty repairs. Kodak is FANTASTIC and makes Minolta look like they don't even belong in business!!! HP is very good as well; just stay away from Minolta because of poor quality products and even poorer quality "customer service", which is totally lacking at this poor excuse of a company!

Brilliant performance for size and weight

PROS: Pocketability Ease of use Picture quality Speed Battery life

CONS: No info in eye-level finder No Tv or Av choice No remote (but same as all in class here)

Flagship X-series. Minolta got it right!

PROS: Small & light. Very fast to start & focus. Large LCD. SD cards cheap. Menu navigation easy. Takes good pictures.

CONS: Spare battery expensive. Flimsy battery/SD covers. Still looking for a case...easy to switch camera onwhile sliding into Minolta case. You cant compare the picture quality of one of these subcompacts to their larger relatives....but this must be amongst the best in its class. I always had Canon Ixus(Elphs before this, but decided it was time for a change. The Canons always get good reviews, and the X50 is certainly comparable. There is no way I can go back to the Canon after experiencing the 2"LCD screen! It is also much lighter & feels smaller. You have the usual compromises of low light level limitations, but this is no worse/better than the Canons and is not a problem in the real world without scrutinising each pixel. It seems much faster from initial switch on to focusing & taking a shot (S210). I can recommend the X50, and am very happy with my purchase.

Its a small great gadget

PROS: Super fast start up, abilty to choose picture size in various dimension.Nice finish. Easy to use for ametuer. Large 2" LCD screen. Fast Shooting. Unlimited Video Recording

CONS: Video size is limit to only 320X160. Though unlimited video recording, but with a 256mb sD card and recording at 30fps,it can only caps a maximum of 11 minutes.

what else can you ask for in a point and shoot?

PROS: FAST. Fast start up; low delay btwn pics; easy, intuitive menus; great size; slider feels more sturdy than sony t1

CONS: weak flash (as with all cameras this size);no aperture/shutter speed priority mode; macro can be iffy.

PROS: - Flash is better then sucking T1, T11, T3 - Image quality may also be better

CONS: - 2" LCD, 2.5 would be better - Video quality should be better

PROS: Very well designed, good controls,the fastest startup and turnover ever, Large LCD which is bad for battery, light

CONS: Too much compression, too much noise in the picture, lots of brown dots when you zoom to 50%, The picture is not as sharp as I expected a 5 MP to be,battery life is short, definitly not 140 shots as advertised, spare is expensive, I am actually disappoiten, because I have been waiting for it. Pentax Optio S40 or 550 take much better Pictures

PROS: I was delighted with the Minolta Dimage X50. I bought it last saturday and the very same night took over a 100 pictures of a good quality. Access to the many features was so easy I couldn't resist to try most of them.

CONS: Photos in a poor light are difficult to take without a trembling result
