PROS: Excellent picture quality. Amazing lens compatibility Anti-shake works wonders This camera is incredible. Great for getting novice slr users on their feet. Highly recommended. The pictures in auto mode turn out fantastic. Manual control gives even better pictures.

CONS: The pentax software. It has no batch or multi edit/conversion for raw pictures. It is also hard to use. The kit af motor is a little noisy and the camera mirror slap is loud. SDM lenses are expensive. flash sync of 1/180, should be higher. No slow sync flash mode. Only uses about 50% of the total capacity 2050 mah of NI-MH batteries. But it will last about 450 pictures (most with flash and AF enabled) The number will be higher if pix are taken without flash

PROS: AA batteries. Solid built. Shake reduction using sensor shift mechinism.

CONS: Heavy.

PROS: The shake reduction was perfect for dimly lit environment. The flash also works well when you need it, and it doesn't overexpose your images.

CONS: couldn't always get the camera to autofocus on what I wanted, but manually focusing is as simple as on any other SLR camera
