PROS: The camera has a powerful image processor. It is responsive, and feature rich. Photos turned out great under a variety of lighting conditions. Autofocus works great, even in challenging lighting. The video mode also looks excellent.
CONS: The latch which holds the memory card in place broke after only a few cycles of use. This was awful, and made me very concerned about the quality of the Canon. I had bought the camera brand new from a major retailer. Have exchanged it now, but I question the quality of construction.
OVERALL SCORE:6/10
PROS: excellet product. I would highly recommend it. the photos are fantastic and I love the wide angle. I use the video quite a bit and I love that it records to a non-propriterary format. I can edit the videos with Windows Movie Maker. The fact that others recorded to Quicktime was a real negative for me.
CONS: people complain about the battery door being cheap. Yeah, it is, but it has not been a problem.

PROS: Easy to use, beautiful clear photos, decent video, quality materials, IS actually works!
CONS: underpowered flash, thumb button is difficult to switch, high noise above 400 ISO, plastic battery and cable covers are flimsy
PROS: Dont listen to the naysayers in this review, especially the ones who complain about decent compacts with 10mp, they obvioulsy dont know what they are talking about. This camera is fantastic with great Image Satbilisation and 28mm wide angle. The pistcure quality is great, good colours, crisp image.
CONS: No battery life indicator. Mid shot wash out with the flash. Barrel distortion with the wide angle(this is easily corrected in post processing).
OVERALL SCORE:8/10

CONS: Occasional spots when taking indoor pictures with flash. Can be expensive.

CONS: low flash; corner softness especially at 28 mm; no manual control of shutter speed and aperture; loss of details at ISO 400
