  I like it.

PROS: I, unlike others like the xti's compact size. I also find the over-all desgn to be quite easy to use with a little practise. Of course, I have customized some settings to my preferences ( like flash exp. comp. on the rear button ). Some of the other reviews stagger me because they're trying to use the camera as a top professional model & are disappointed. Who takes a camera like this to do rigorous travel or sports photography & then doesn't pack a spare battery ? just asking for trouble ! This is after all is an entry level camera & should be regarded as such. As a lower level model this camera is excellent & can even be used professionally within reasonable limits. I know because I have used it professionally. It seems to me that most peoples "cons" for this camera arise because it's not the camera they really wanted only the one they could afford !

CONS: My only disapointment was the smaller viewfinder than I'm used to. Again this because I bought an entry level camera when I really wantd a 5D ( but couldn't get my wife to sanction it ! ).

  Great camera for the price. The grip is small even for small hands.

PROS: Great for the price. Quick. Small (for an SLR). But needs nice optics because of small sensor.

CONS: Small hand grip, small even for smaller hands. And only 3 resolution settings. Sometimes, I just want to take a 2MP picture, but the smallest setting is 5MP.

  Superlative performance in a lightweight, small form size 10MP camera.

PROS: Size, weight, handling, rear screen, image quality, flash performance, easy menus, RC-1 remote compatability,

CONS: One button access to mirror lockup without using menus. But, for the price, no Cons.

  An excellent camera at a low price that is a joy to use.

PROS: Auto cleaning sensor, size, weight, 10MP, handling, large rear screen can be read w/o glasses, one handed operation, excellent flash performance, RC-1 remote for landscape/macro, battery life

CONS: Mirror lock could be easier to access, weather proofing could be better (although unlikely at this price), not much I can think of

  I reviewed this a couple of weeks a go but changed my opinion a bit more positively.

PROS: Hi, I went to China with this camera , as I wrote before , I live in Thailand due to my work and found a big issue with this Canon . When you use this camera with longer zoom range ,this camera uses up a lot of battery power so fast.. In China , the camera got dead in 4 hours and I could not get back to my hotel until 8 pm and it took me 90 munites to charge it fully ....So I lost a lot of shooting opportunities. But I really think I can hand -hold this still most of time , even when the shutter speed is below 1/8 , no blur with my fe50mm , plus the ISO800 and 1600 are respectively pretty clean for that kind of ISO settings. I found with this Rebel , I do not need any kind of ANTI-SHAKE , which I believe is really a kinda market hype ..... When do you need this feature so-called in-body anti shake? When you need to use tele zooms , you need a tripod not anti shake. When you need to use an SLR in dimly lit room , you need a fast prime and high-ISO capability and low noise sensor , not anti shake. So I think in-body anti shake is useless and it's the only one advantage of being a Pentax user,and the Pentax camera division will be closed by OCT .... So do not waste your money on the dying system called K10D , this K10 banding and noise issue at ISO 800 was so horrible , I borrowed it from my dad and test it myself for a couple of days... BTW, I decided to sell my Nikon D40. It is not as good as this XTI and even not in the same league .... shoot sports with them , you will see the Canon 's AF system is more reliable and faster. Nikon has a better flash but I do not use flash and hate using it as often it destroy the atmospheric lighting effect of a particular room or street.

CONS: Pentax is dying and Canon is better than Nikon . I think the rumored 40 D is on the way to PMA show , and I think the price will be much cheaper than that of the 30D. I also think the 40D will be much better than this XTI , with more semi-pro like features including the spot metering , 5f/s , weather sealed metal body... So if the 40D will be sold under USD1200, I will be shocked and feel envious of its users.

  Well, the AF is soso so fast and accurate , I love the speed of the camera.

PROS: Hey , I was on the fence between Nikon D40 and This one , I actually loved the K10D and 100D of Pentax , though as I now work in Thaialnd , there was no lens availability of Pentax models ......... So bought the Nikon and the Canon both... Most of Stores in SE Asia carry only Canon and nikon lenses , though you can buy a Camera from other companies ..............but without Leneses .....silly , right? I really hated the design of the Rebel until actually bought to use it in KL .Malaysia for my New year's short holiday .. I usually take a person or people on a crowded Asian street esp students , they are kinda difficult to frame nicely with a slow small digicam , that is the reason why I decided to go up into the D-SLR world ....and I also knew that getting an SLR means , getting into a system and need to make a some kinda commitment to myself ..... So despite of the fact I am so fond ofthe K100D and still wanna buy it, I know the right one to get for now should be a Canon or Nikon esp when I live in Asia or EU....There are no Pentax, Olypus and Sony lenses avalable for you when you are living out side of Japan or the US, so even though I like the K100D as it is what I believe currently the best camera for your buck with a great set of features and the ergonomics of this camera is just perfect , plus the SR feature is really nice to have (with the reliable CCD-shaking Anti-Shake , you can use the SLR like a bridge , put a Sigma 18-200 or 17-125 and never change a lens unless you take a macro or portrait with a good prime)...... I bought the Rebel XTI black with Sigma 17-125 and canon EF50mm f1.8 , both are real great lenses ...The sigma is so sharp and bright but not over saturated , the Canon prime is as good as it is talked about on line forums (dpreview.com etc), very sharp and is a very good peformer in low light ....produces a natural looking , true-to-life color photo. CONS: Nothing really bad about the cam really, but as I mentioned above , the body design is not well thought out .... I think Canon may have deigned this for a girl with a tiny hand ........Oh , one more problem , the battery life seems so short ........My Nikon D40 can shoot 3 times longer than this XTI on a charge... But the XTI has better IQ and speed. The Nikon D40 produces a bit too contrasty and overly saturated photo in day light .. the Canon, on the other hand , always expose correctly despite of many idiots claim this one under expose ...no , never , it is a myth created by an idiotic Canon hater or Sony sells person in the dpreview forum.. Plus, why do you use Auto mode in SLR? If you just point and shoot , then buy a FZ50 or something like that , much easier .........

  Canon's EOS-400D digital Rebel XTi is Wonderful

PROS: Canon's 400D is much better than an "entry Level" Digital Camera

CONS: If you have Huge hands, the small footprint may be a problem

  after 20 shots using flash it is "busy" and only takes 1 picture every 7-10 seconds

PROS: LCD display, size, weight, sharp pictures

CONS: you miss tons of shots waiting for it to finish being "busy"

  Canon cameras fall short of industry standards

PROS: Great camera if you do not rely on it being functional year round.

CONS: shutter failed after 1 yr, 1 month with 15,000 pics....second after 11 months with 6700 pics on it.
