CONS: very slow shutter, battery life is a joke, slide could be pushed open when placed into a purse or coat pocket, viewfinder is not accurate, forget about recording, the battery is instantly drained. To have high quality pictures you have to settle with a lot fewer pics.
OVERALL SCORE:3/10
PROS: easy to use,
CONS: Batteries are horrible. My daughter suggested the lithium ones with the rechargeable as backup. Not crazy about the software but maybe with more use I'll feel more comfortable.
PROS: Value is great, very high resolution, and it is simple and easy to operate.
CONS: Alkaline battery life is laughable.
PROS: Super macro shots allows me to photograph very small objects. Nice video option with sound! TV out, display photos for friends big screen with zoom! Add sound to pictures, MANY options for photos inc. panarama, macro and super macro, choose quality, etc.
CONS: It comes with batteries, but you will want to buy your own rechargeables (monster cable makes good ones, mine last about 2 to 3 hours of total use fully charged). Buy a larger memory card! It's worth it to store photos and longer video (about 12 minutes for the 256 card, and 200 to 1300 shots depending on chosen quality)
PROS: Great pictures. Plenty of featues for the novice. After well over a month, we're completely satisfied with our first real digital camera.
CONS: Go with the rechargeable batteries and the memory upgrade available online in one single kit.
PROS: excellent lens/zoom, features galore (exposure/resolution), surprisingly amazing mic for video
CONS: battery life (MUST get rechargables)
PROS: Sharp image. Great colors and clarity
CONS: Picture quality poor in low light situation. Need a larget memory card
PROS: I personally don't get the reason for giving this camera such a poor review. I bought the camera for a trip I was going on (wedding and regular travel) and the pictures it turned out were stunning. Incredible detail on some buildings, and pictures with people are just wonderful. If you just want a camera you can take out, and take a few pictures like a real camera, it's great.
CONS: Battery life leaves something to be desired so get rechargeables. It does take awhile to actually TAKE a picture after pressing the button.
PROS: I am a avid photographer, this is my first time with a digital, I love this camera. Very easy to use and great zoom quality.
CONS: Larger memory card will be necessary. I have installed a 64mb and that is adequate.
PROS: I PURCHASED AN OLYMPUS D 580 ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA AND LOVE THIS PRODUCT. THE PHOTO QUALITY IS BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS; I PRINTED THE FIRST PHOTO I TOOK AND WAS HOOKED. NOT A LOT OF TECHNICAL FEATURES. THE SEVEN SHOOTING MODES AND PANORAMIC FEATURE ARE GREAT. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WITH THIS PRODUCT.
CONS: I READ THE REVIEWS FROM CNET ABOUT THIS PRODUCT AND ALL THE CONS ARE THE SAME. THE ALKALINE BATTERIES THAT COME WITH THE CAMERA WILL NOT LAST FOR MOST PHOTOGRAPHY NEEDS AND THE 16 MB PICTURE CARD IS NOT ENOUGH. HOWEVER, I PURCHASED AHEAD OF TIME AN OLYMPUS BATTERY CHARGER WITH 4 AA NI-MH BATTERIES (B-90SU UNIT) AND A 128 MB XD PICTURE CARD. THESE ADDITIONS ARE A MUST FOR MY PHOTO NEEDS. I HAVE THE COMPLETE PACKAGE AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE (CNET GAVE ME THE LEAST PRICED AND UP).
