TOTAL USER RATINGS: 6
PROS: Small, sleek, weatherproof, and the face of the camera does not scratch.
CONS: Not a lot of features, LCD screen broke right away, rendering it useless.
PROS: Size, Screen Size, good battery time, and thats about it...
CONS: Horrible picture quality, noisy camera, terrible in low light(and the low light modes dont help!), expensive, requires more expensive xD cards,
PROS: I did like the size as well as the help feature.
CONS: Three weeks ago we purchased the Olympus 710 tried it for a week and it was ok. The pictures were not quite as clear as my old Kodak Easy Share LS 443 at 4.0 pixels, but it was smaller so we decided to keep it and take it on vacation to Alaska traveling from Anchorage to Denali Park and then up to Fairbanks by train. We got to Anchorage, Alaska and when the waiter tried to take a picture, the flash was broken. I contacted Olympus and they tried to reset the camera, however the flash was defective. They would not replace it so therefore we were limited on personal indoor shots for the rest of the trip. I am returning the camera and paying the extra money to purchase a Cannon. 6 pixels versus 7.1 pixels, unless you are printing very large pictures, it won’t matter. And Cannon has better reviews. What is a hundred dollars extra? The Olympus has a neat help screen and it is convenient to carry. I just think because we had a brand new camera and we cannot get to the store where we purchased their product that customer service would have tried to solve the problem more aggressively. The Customer service supervisor just basically, didn’t care. I would not recommend this product or company.
OVERALL SCORE:5/10
PROS: Light weight, small, nice LCD screen fairly easy to use
CONS: LCD screen cannot be viewed well in bright sunlight, allot of red eyes in my initial pictures being a guy I refused to read the manual, but that can be rectified; learn the camera before judging
PROS: 7.1 Megapixels Great Macro Shots 28 Shooting Modes ( Almost any situation imaginable ) Super Clear Photos When Used With A Tripod and Low ISO Setting Reliable, and Durable as it is Weatherproof and Sealed From Dust and Sand + Scratchproof Shell All around great camera for the price, would definetely recommend to friends and family
CONS: Too Much Noise When Using High ISO, but if you set the picture resolution to about 1600 x 1200 it compensates for the noise and you get a super clear image with high iso setting I owned the camera for a while now, and used it many times and that was the only noticable problem I've had
OVERALL SCORE:9/10
PROS: Easy to use, fits in my shirt pocket, auto and manual controls, great low light performance.
CONS: Advanced manual is on cd. We travel alot and I would prefer a book for sake of ease.
