PROS: Looks good, lots of features, lithium ion battery, good price. That's why I bought it.
CONS: The photo quality is no better than a phone vga camera, it is truly dreadful. My old kodak 2mp camera took far better photos. My Sony 5mp takes better and my daughter's Canon ixus 70 takes better photos. This camera takes crap photos, it really does look like VGA quality.
OVERALL SCORE:3/10
PROS: I've shot everything from pets to weddings in the last 25 years (film and digital) and this thing is capable of any job you might do with any 35mm or digital SLR. I've owned mine for about three months and have taken a LOT of photos and done a few paying jobs with it. I love having an always ready to go camera with a manual zoom. (I’d buy a P712 if it had that feature, Kodak take notice) Colors are good, Contrast is good, Range is as acceptable as any digital camera I’ve owned and better than many. I have actually started to prefer it (at times) to my heavy DSLR. It ALWAYS goes with as a backup camera. My customers like the photos this camera takes. I’m pretty well sold on it.
CONS: It constantly focuses in “AUTO” mode, this is noisy and annoying. Focus times in dim lighting could be better. The P20 external flash could be more powerful, although for the price it’s a pretty good value. (power zooming, ttl , auto flash for $110.00) Proprietary battery. (so does almost everyone else) I wish it had the capability to use AA rechargables It’s EASY to accidentally erase the next picture in the queue after you’ve just erased an unwanted one (just be careful)
OVERALL SCORE:8/10
PROS: This camera is one of five digital units I use ... It has more value and quality performance dollar for dollar than any I have had my hands on in the last ten years.
CONS: Low light focus is difficult at times ... mind you it is for most other digital cameras as well.
OVERALL SCORE:9/10
PROS: 24mm lens, long zoom at 140mm, well priced, speedy performace in good lighting conditions
CONS: slow focusing in poor lighting, lens hood causes shadow when using flash at wide angles
PROS: Extra wide angle lens, 24 mm, gets everybody in the picture. Powerfull built in flash, hot shoe for external flash, sync for strobes. Great colors from subtle to vivid. Bulb setting for timed exposure
CONS: Any camera can be nit picked apart, but so far I don't have any cons. I have taken nearly 1,000 pics and not much to complain about. Great camera.
PROS: super wide 24mm zoom, 8 megapixels, Kodak colors, video with timelapse, exposure lock for panoramic stitching, fully automatic to totally manual
CONS: it cannot give a relaxing massage, but...i have had the P880 for 2 weeks and taken over 150 shots. no shortcomings that i can see to date.
