PROS: I have use my canon (my second Canon) for 8 months and love it. It makes great pictures, has easy to use software to download pictures, the flexable view finder is nice, and it has a nice zoom.
CONS: Cover for connecting to the computer is not well made and doesn't look like it will last long.
PROS: size is easy to handle, great sharpness and detail
CONS: tends to oversaturate colors like most all consumer digital cameras, access cover flaps are cheap and flimsy
PROS: lots... see reviews anywhere on net
CONS: (1) flimsy cover for TV out... too cheap. (2) battery flap too hard... (3) too much sound coming from the optical zoom motor, feels uncomfortable (4) the 'dial' on top no works confidently (as in A530)
OVERALL SCORE:8/10
PROS: Good image quality, swivel LCD a plus, good flash distance, multiple camera shooting modes, easy controls
CONS: Very LOUD zoom, heavy and quite bulky, requires 4 AA batteries
PROS: Outstanding Image quality for 5 Meg, and the color is supurb. Battery life is the best from a point -and-shoot digital camera that I have seen. Easy to use once you learn Canon's lingo. The SD card is very fast and writing and reading. Although SD cards are not as popular amoung professionals, it is reliable, and fast. I used to manage a Ritz Camera Store in Binghamton, NY for several years, and have seen every camera come down the pike. This one is a certain winner! I am a die-hard Nikon shooter, but this one makes me think again. For those withg large hands, it has an excellent grip for a point-and-shoot.
CONS: Just a few things... There is a flash fall-off at the widest lens setting which could be solved if Canon added a more diffuse flash. I would hane also liked a 28mm lens rather than just 35mm. The body is built solidly, but I would have liked a metal shell.
OVERALL SCORE:9/10
PROS: Camera takes exellent photos and you have the ability to do a lot with this small but powerfull camera. You know by the weight it is strong and should withstand some abuse. Viewing screen is large and easy to use and able to swivel to a position that suits the photographer.
CONS: Canon should know better than giving you a 16mg memory card. It is about 3 seconds of video or about 8 photos. Come on Canon, we pay for a good product and you give us this. It should come with at least 512 if not a gig. A one gig can be found with mail in rebates for under $70.00 so I am sure Canon's cost would be about half of that.
OVERALL SCORE:9/10
PROS: great pictures, Plenty of manual features, swivel screen, adaptability of add-ons.
CONS: Flimsyand badly positioned usb door, Bit bulky, Niggling camera shake warning
OVERALL SCORE:8/10
PROS: Excellent diversity of features does exactly what i need a camera to do for simple point and shoot camera that is. Manual focus, shutter speeds, variable flash settings and exposures. Great for shooting picts of kids and picts of my aquarium fish!
CONS: Would be nice to have a hot shoe for flash expansion. Also would be good to have a medium between the video compression settings--1 min of video is about 130mb on average.
OVERALL SCORE:8/10
