PROS: Features are great. Mode wheel could have some sort of lock on it though. It is far to easy to spin it without knowing it and ruin a shot. Daylight shots are beautiful. Great color and image quality.
CONS: For shots needing flash this camera doesn't do well at all. Using flash causes red-eye whether using the red-eye feature or not. Even when people are looking mostly to the side you will still get red eye. Very difficult focusing in lower light situations where different cameras friends own have none.
OVERALL SCORE:7/10
PROS: Easy to use and image quality.
CONS: slightly bulky and heavy compared to other similar cameras.
PROS: The new Canon PowerShot A95 is the best 5 Megapixel digital camera on the market as of this moment.
CONS: None
PROS: great features
CONS: The only problem I saw were in downloaded pictures. The same pictures taken at a certain camera review website showed a lot of blueish frinigng on bothe the a95 and a85. Canon used the same ccd's in these cameras as they did in the a80 and a 70, they just crammed an extra megabite of pixels on each one. download the pics that show playground equipment and trees than look at the trees. the best pictures I saw from this series of cameras were from the a80 and a75 cameras
PROS: The A95's larger LCD is a major step up from the A80's screen. And they brought back the fireworks mode that was a key feature (at least for me!) on the A75. The pictures are sharp and when used with any image-editing software, you'll get great results. If you buy this camera, learn the many different modes. I shoot pictures of flowers using the macro setting in the action mode and then shoot people on the street in the same mode without the macro, but at a different ISO setting. Then a minute later, take some head shots in portrait mode. Learn to make the camera work for you.
CONS: Lousy 3X optical zoom. That new Panasonic F20 with the 12X optical zoom just might bust down the A95 to being my second camera in my backpack.
PROS: -Great picture quality -Good build quality -Loads of manual controls -Rotating LCD screen is very handy and it is crystal clear -Easy to use -Uses AA batteries and CF memory -Comes with excellent software package
CONS: -Small amount of purple fringing on high contrast photos
PROS: I have a Canon SLR and I decided to get my wife a Digital Camera so that we will have a choice. I decided to go with Canon Powershot A95 because of the vast features it provides. Its like a small SLR camera! Last year I saw my friend's A80 and fell in love with it. Although I found a bit shutter lag in A80, A95 was quite ok. The features were very easy to understand and the setup was too. I love the moving LCD although its a bit small. But hey you can take your own pictures without asking anyone to do that for you. I had a bit problem in taking pictures at start. Was finding it hard to focus and the pictures were coming a bit blury. But after some time I got used to the half press to focus and full press to take picture. Its not that good as my SLR though. Pros: 1. Big enough to not get lost, Small enough to fit in my wifes purse. 2. Love the moving LCD, although its a bit small. 3. Pictures are really good once you learn how to focus and use the features of the camera. 4. AA batteries, easy to find anywhere in world. Althougn canon should have packed rechargable batteries/charger with it. 5. So many shooting modes. One for every ocassion.
CONS: Cons: 1. Purple fringing on some pictures. Especially if you take pictures of white objects. 2. 32MB CF is too small. Need to get a bigger capacity CF card. I had to buy a 512MB CF. 3. The CF Card door is loose, flimsy. 4. Canon should have switched the places of the A/V output and USB output. We use USB to connect to the computer a lot. 5. 3x Optical zoom is less.
PROS: Very nice quality images. Fast response time. Very good manual controls.
CONS: When using Canons wide-angle lens with flash, the lower right of all your pictures will have a very **** shadow in them, this is caused by the length of the adpter and lens when attached and the location of the flash. The Wide-Angle lens is useless if the picture requires flash illumination. I shoot interiors of houses, and not being able to use a flash is very bad, thats why I would not recommend this camera.
PROS: everything i need as i just bought my 1st digicam.. 360 deg rotatable lcd...unbeatable
CONS: no bundled battery..
PROS: Great picture quality! Great Price. All photos are crisp clear. No Purple fringing like on Canon SI IS. Optional Wide Angle lens adds incredible depth to scenic shots. Great for travelers on a budget who want consistenly good pics! Buy a two 1 GB cards with the money you save compared to other 5MP and you can get close to 800 5MP shots. Runs on AA batteries--another plus for traveling. Awesome Camera!
CONS: Some say weight is problem. I say the more metal the more reliable the camera is from breaking. No Complaints!
