PROS: Nice pics on normal mode. Excellent features for a point-and-shoot camera. Bought it over the Sony 5.0 megapixel camera due to its manual features.
CONS: A little bit on the heavy side if you're in the market for a pocket-size camera.
PROS: Excellent picture quality Super solid build in gleaming metal no less Extensive manual controls Not too big and not too small Flip out LCD allows over the head shooting LCD zoom feature for picture reviews Takes auxiliary lenes and underwater case
CONS: I am going to exchange my A80 for an S50(has 1.8 inch LCD like my Canon 10D). Although the LCD was clear and bright there is just NO EXCUSE for a 1.5 inch LCD on a camera this size. Unless you have perfect vision, go try and change the settings. You need a magnifying glass! After you put 4AA batteries in camera it is quite heavy. No provision for a neck strap just a wrist strap. No provision for external flash.
PROS: Almost everything is great
CONS: lcd can be small for people with bad eyes...... but it is very bright and i find it works well. if you cant see then get something else but dont give it a thumbs down cuz you should have looked at the lcd before buying it
PROS: Every thing !!!! Durable metal Case, Flip out LCD for self portraits, odd angles and LCD protection. Long battery life, rechargabele or regular batteries a great flexible option. Superb Pic. quality, tons of options and am able to use other optional lenses. Water proof case also availible. Everything I was looking for and then some! 1.5" LCD screen is a little small but I use my camera to take pictures not view them, mostly used for editing and view finder purposes wich it is no problem. If you do like to view them on your camera you can zoom on the LCD if needed. I also do not have any trouble seeing menu options and navigating on LCD. Camera is a little on the heavy side but it is solid and strong wich is much more importaint to me than a light plastic drop and break case.
CONS: 32 meg card only hold 25 pictures. Need to buy a 256
PROS: The Canon Powershot A80 is simply an outstanding value. There is no other camera out there that offers the same impeccable image quality, rich feature set, and flexibility. The flip-out LCD is a marvel and you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Battery life is great, and because the A80 uses AAs, they are simple to replace in a pinch.
CONS: The LCD screen is on the smallish side, but it is of such high quality that it hardly matters. In situations with a bright sky, the camera tends to blow out the highlights. It's easy to fix, though, by setting the exposure compensation to -1 or so.
PROS: Bought on strength of A70 reviews. Picture quality excellent, LCD too small but sharp, fact it is adjustable is it's saving grace, 1.7inch would have made camera bigger still. Recommend to anyone who wants more out of a digital camera than to simply point and click.
CONS: Only 32mb CF card
PROS: Neat features, am still learning how they all work. LCD can be seen in daylight due to the flip-feature- you can orient it so that you can view it easier, and still compose your picture. I use this more than I thought I would.
CONS: I do wish the Lcd was larger and less pixel-ish but it is better than many. I wish it would retain settings better.
PROS: I sold my Canon G2 to get this because I wanted something smaller with faster start-up and shutdown times, and a lens that doesn't need an external cover! I'm not disappointed. Only had this camera for 2 weeks and still getting acquainted but it's great so far. Easy to navigate controls - lots of flexibility and options with settings- comfortable grip - great battery life (NiMh) - good software - superior indoor shots with good redeye reduction - nice swivel LCD (the resolution and physical size isn't as nice as the G2 but it works fine) - very good looking photos printed with a Canon S900 photo printer.
CONS: Outdoor shots are subject to purple fringing but can be compensated for by reducing the exposure setting. Also, most outdoor shots seem soft and the (bright) sky tends to be blown-out. Not as good as the G2 outdoors - better than the G2 indoors. Automatic white balance isn't very accurate and the 9-point AiAf system sometimes produces blurry shots because it doesn't necessarily focus on the primary subject.
PROS: Great and advanced features. Good colour, sharpness photos. Use AA and CF. Flip LCD for difficult shooting conditions. Metal case (largely) Flash strong among common DC
CONS: CA can be improved. Whole metal case would be better. Movie function can be improved, such as unlimited length and VGA quality.
PROS: Excellent photos, superb value with the total package
CONS: The control dial needs more positive detents in it so you cannot mistakenly move it and change your settings without realizing it.
