Panasonic unveiled its Lumix DMC-SZ8 compact digital camera featuring a 12x optical zoom with 24mm wide angle lens and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The camera features Intelligent Zoom, which allows users to combine the optical and digital zooms to achieve 24x zoom with less effect to image quality. The 16-megapixel CCD sensor allows users to record video in 1280 x 720 HD video, thanks to its Venus Engine processor.
With the Wi-Fi connectivity, users can easily transfer files to their smartphone or tablet without a cable or Wi-Fi hot spot. The Wi-Fi feature also enables the camera to act as a monitor device, letting users view a live stream from the camera to their mobile device. Users can also control the camera remotely using the app, allowing them to adjust zoom, focusing, and the shutter release.
There is no word on either the official release date or pricing for the Lumix DMC-SZ8, but it will be available on Panasonic's website as well as at certain retail locations.
