Today, Tamron announced their new 14-150mm f/3.5-5.8 lens for the Micro Four Thirds camera system. Hoping to supply superior images, this lens includes a LD (Low Dispersion) glass element, two molded-glass aspherical elements and one hybrid aspherical element. It also offers Tamron's vibration compensation mechanism for added stability and shake-reduction while hand-holding lighter weight mirrorless cameras. A stepping motor has been optimized for this lens to provide silent, quick and accurate auto focusing. Additionally, a 7 blade circular diaphragm is being utilized in order to achieve "bokeh" effects. The metal lens barrel exterior is available in two colors: black and silver. Pricing and availability have yet to be determined.
