The SZ-15 borrows almost all of the same technology from its big brother, the SZ-16. In fact, we are not really sure why they are introducing such a similar camera for only $30 less than the other. That being said, I'm only reporting this news. I didn't create it.
The SZ-15 is a 16 megapixel camera with a TruePic III+ Image Processor and CMOS sensor. It has a 24x zoom with the equivalent of 25-600mm. It boasts a 3 inch 460k LCD screen.
It is capable of capturing HD video. Just like the SZ-16, the SZ-15 offers built-in image stabilization which allows users to reduce blur caused by camera shake. This becomes extremely helpful when using the Super-Resolution Zoom of 48x magnification or the Telephoto Macro Mode.
The camera also features 11 magic filters which can be used with either still images or video. Additionally, Beauty Make-up Mode allows for in camera retouching of skin tones, adding eyeliner or eye shadow or applying blush to your subjects. Panorama mode offers a full 360- degrees of viewing.
The SZ-15 will be available in March along with its big brother, the SZ-16. The estimated street price is about $200. It will be available in silver, black and red.
