Olympus announced the upcoming release of the new M.Zuiko 17mm f/1.8 lens. This lens, created for Olympus' own Micro Four Thirds cameras, promises sharp images and great depth of field. Measuring only 1.4 inches in length, this lens is compact, stylish and discrete. It is finished in textured metallic, which complements Olympus' line of compact interchangeable lens cameras.
Olympus is expecting this lens to be an integral tool in the camera bags of countless streetshooters, landscape photographers or anyone in need of a super fast lens for low-light environments. The Snapshot Focus mechanism allows for quick, blur-free images and sanctions advance shooters the option of greater control by way of sliding back the ring encircling the lens.
The Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 17mm f/1.8 lens will be available in December for an estimated price of $499.99.
