Three new Coolpix cameras offer features like 26x optical zoom and 720p HD video for less. The Coolpix L810 is the high-zoom model with a 22.5-585mm equivalent lens, while the L26 and S30 offer 5x and 3x zooms respectively.
Nikon Coolpix L810
The AA-powered Nikon Coolpix L810 offers a healthy 26x zoom with Nikon's VR image stabilization system. A high-resolution 3.0-inch 921k-dot LCD graces the back panel, and the L810 is equipped with 720p HD video. Also included are Nikon's Smart Portrait technology and nineteen pre-set scene modes.
Nikon Coolpix S30
A back-to-basics compact with a ruggedized build, the S30 features a 10 megapixel CCD sensor, 3x optical zoom lens and 720p HD video. It is waterproof to 9.8 feet and shockproof up to 2.6 feet for a little added durability. Nikon positions it as an ideal family camera - easy on the wallet and likely to survive a drop from the hands of a young family member.
Nikon Coolpix L26
The L26 meets an entry-level consumers needs with a 5x zoom, 720p HD video and a 3.0-inch LCD. It's another AA powered model and also sports Smart Portrait technology.
Pricing and availability
The Nikon Coolpix L810 will arrive in February for a suggested retail price of $279.95. The Coolpix S30 and L26 should be available in February, each priced at $119.95.
