Nikon Coolpix S9300, S6300, S4300, S3300 Ready for a Closeup

Nikon's "S for Style" series gets an update today in the form of four new models. Starting at the top with the GPS-enabled S9300, these new compacts offer 16 megapixel sensors, bigger zooms and HD video for the style-conscious consumer.

This S-series headliner lays claim to an 18x optical zoom lens, 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and in-camera geo-tagging. It's all pretty impressive when you consider the camera itself is just 1.5-inches thick. VR stabilization is available to help steady that 25-450mm zoom lens. It also packs in 1080p HD video, stereo sound and a variety of frame rate options for slow and high speed movie effects. The S6300 follows the S9300 in suit with a 10x VR optical zoom lens, 16 megapixel BSI CMOS and full 1080p video.

Nikon Coolpix S4300 and S3300
The S4300 offers a 3.0-inch 460k-dot touch LCD as well as a 16 megapixel sensor. A 6x optical zoom lens starts at a wide 26mm wide angle and is stabilized with VR Vibration Reduction. Bringing up the rear is the S3300 will have a 6x optical zoom lens, optical VR stabilization and a 26mm wide angle. Both offer 720p HD video.

Pricing and availability
All of these S-series compacts will be available in February. The Nikon Coolpix S9300 leads the way at a suggested $349.99 price. The S6300, S4300 and S3300 will cost $199.95, $169.95 and $139.95 respectively.
