Photographer Stephen Oachs of Aperture Academy has published several photos from an African safari, and it appears he captured the likes of an unreleased Canon 5D Mark III out in the wild. Oachs states that he stumbled across a Japanese photographer using several prototype lenses and the camera body in question.
The timing would be just about right - this September the 5D Mark II would be 4 years old. There are a few surface changes if we are to take these photos as the real thing, including a new Live View mode switch and a joystick on the grip. No doubt this iteration of the 5D would have some hardware upgrades in terms of processing, metering, auto focus and low light capabilities.
