Six new VIXIA camcorders - three HF M-series models and three HF R-series models - arrive today. Some models are WiFi connected with DLNA compatibility to help get your videos online faster.
Canon VIXIA HF M52, VIXIA HF M50, VIXIA HF M500
These new VIXIA camcorders are Canon's compact alternative, claimed to be 15% smaller than previous M series models. They all offer 1080 HD video, a 10x optical zoom lens and HD CMOS Pro image sensors. Each is equipped with a 3.0-inch touch LCD and ability to record MP4 files for easier uploading and sharing. The 32GB M52 and 8GB M50 are WiFi and DLNA connected. The M500 offers no internal memory space, recording to an SDXC-compatible card slot instead.
Canon VIXIA HF R32, VIXIA HF R30, VIXIA HF R300
Each of these models incorporates a 51x "Advanced Zoom" lens, a 3.28 megapixel HD CMOS sensor and a 3.0-inch touch LCD. The HF R32 and R30 offer 32GB and 8GB of internal storage respectively along with WiFi connectivity. Intelligent IS with Optical Image Stabilization is included.
Pricing and availability
The Canon VIXIA HF M52, M50 AND M500 will be available in March for $749.99, $649.99 and $549.99 respectively. The HF R32, R30 and R300 debut at the same time for $549.99, $449.99 and $349.99 respectively.
