Tamron to Release 18-200mm NEX Lens

Tamron announces today the 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens for the Sony NEX system. This E-mount zoom lens will cover a range equivalent to 27-300mm mounted to a Sony mirrorless camera. Available in black or silver, it will use a 62mm filter and weigh around 16 ounces.

Tamron's release promises quiet AF function, a key feature for those who like to record video. The lens consists of 17 elements in 13 groups and features a minimum focusing distance of 19.6 inches throughout the zoom range. It also uses Tamron's VC Vibration Compensation stabilization technology.

Pricing and Availability
The 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 lens will begin shipping December 15th. No word on pricing yet.
