Panasonic Lumix 3D1 Compact 3D Camera Unveiled

Panasonic unveils the Lumix 3D1 compact 3D camera. Thanks to dual 4x optical zoom lenses, the 3D1 is capable of still and 1080 video 3D capture. Two lenses and separate imaging engines make it possible to simultaneously record 2D video and stills.

Using a 12 megapixel MOS sensor, the 3D1 is capable of recording 1080 HD video at 60i. Reduced video resolutions and framerates are available only in 2D shooting - 3D is limited to 1080 at 60i. The twin zoom lenses start at a 25mm equivalent wide angle. Mega O.I.S. stabilization is built into the system to reduce blur.

It offers a 3.5-inch touch screen and full resolution burst shooting at up to 8 fps with fixed focus. A dedicated 2D/3D switch on the camera's back panel makes switching between 2D and 3D modes simple. The sleek 3D1 uses a folded optic design to keep zoom lenses contained within the camera body.

Pricing and Availability
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-3D1 will be available in December for $499.99.
