The A3300 IS lets the user capture beautiful images and highly detailed HD video clips with very little effort - no matter his or her level of photographic competence. Portraits, landscapes, outdoor images in various lighting situations, nighttime shots, and indoor pictures can all be captured easily when users shoot in the A3300 IS's Smart Auto mode. Just set the A3300 IS to Smart Auto and then concentrate on capturing your subject at the decisive moment - the camera will automatically analyze the scene in front of the lens and then select the appropriate setting from 32 built-in special scene modes.
In addition to its small footprint, 720p video mode, 3.0-inch LCD monitor, and nifty Smart Auto mode, the DIGIC IV driven Canon PowerShot A3300 IS also provides OIS (optical image stabilization), Face Detection AF, Automatic Red-Eye Correction, Live View Control, and a selection of Creative Filters. Menus are logical and simply navigated and the controls are familiar, well laid out, and easily accessed by right handed shooters. I've only had the Canon Powershot A3300 IS for a short while, but so far, I like this camera. That's not to say that I haven't noticed any faults, but I'll cover those in the full review.
