Samsung Announces Five New NX Lenses

A new long zoom 18-200mm, 85mm f/1.4 portrait and a 60mm macro are among the new lenses announced by Samsung for the NX system.

Two of these lenses, the 60mm macro and 85mm f/1.4, offer an SSA or Super Sonic Actuator for quieter auto focus operation. These two lenses will also offer a feature called Full Time Manual Focus.

The five new lenses launched today are:

Samsung 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 ED OIS long zoom
Samsung 16mm f/2.4 wide angle pancake
Samsung 60mm f/2.8 Macro ED OIS SSA
Samsung 85mm f/1.4 ED SSA portrait prime
Samsung 16-80mm f/3.5-4.5 OIS standard zoom

These lenses each incorporate the new i-Function technology developed with the NX100. A small button on the side of the lens offers quick access to exposure controls. The lenses launched today join five more in the Samsung NX lineup, bringing the total up to ten.

Pricing and availability
The 18-200mm and 16mm lenses will be the first to hit the market, debuting in May and July respectively. The 60mm macro will follow in August, the 85mm will arrive in October and the 16-80mm will be available in December. Pricing is not available at this time.
