With just a week left before CES 2011, Samsung announces a slim point-and-shoot with an 18x optical zoom lens, full manual operation and 720p HD video recording.
Samsung claims that the WB700's Schneider Kreuznach lens will stretch out to a 24x zoom range with help from a 1.3x Smart Zoom function. A noise cancellation feature promises to remove the sound of the zoom lens operation while recording video. The lens features a 24 mm wide angle of view (35 mm equivalent).
Aside from an impressive zoom range, the WB700 (replacing the WB600 and WB650) will use a 16 megapixel CCD sensor and offer several in-camera art filters, optical image stabilization and support for RAW image capture.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung WB700 will be introduced in April at an MSRP of $299.99
