Pentax issued a press release today confirming that its medium format 645D will be available stateside in December 2010. It will also be available on display at PhotoPlus Expo from October 28-30 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Registration for the expo is ongoing and open to the general public.

The Pentax 645D was announced in March of 2010 and was available only in Japan. It uses a 44x33mm 40 megapixel sensor and will be sold for $9,995.95 body-only and the smc Pentax-D FA 645 55mm f/2.8 lens will cost $1,199.95. Owners of the 645D will have access to a dedicated support team and a Pentax Professional Services program. The 645D recently received an Editors' Choice award from American Photo Magazine.
