Sanyo added a new pocket HD camcorder to its Dual Camera lineup this week, promising what Sanyo VP Tom Van Voy calls, "amazing 10 megapixel photos and 1080 archive quality video with 3x optical zoom."
The candy bar-shaped Sanyo VPC-PD2BK will shoot 1080/30p video (1920 x 1080, MP4 AVC, H.264) through its 37mm wide-angle lens to SD, SDHC or SDXC (up to 64GB) and record stereo sound (48KHz, 16 bit, AAC) through two on-board mics. Other features include a "High Speed Sequential Shooting Mode," face detection, digital image stabilization, and "Target a Color Function.”
Filmmakers can monitor the action through a 2.0-inch TFT LCD screen.
The VPC-PD2BK will measure 2.48x0.87x4.36 inches and weigh only 3.7 ounces. For connections, it will sport a slide-out USB dongle and mini HDMI port.
Pricing and availability
Sanyo expects to ship the pocket camcorder in September for an MSRP of $170.
