Canon announces today an EOS 7DSV DSLR optimized for studio, event and school photographers. Unwanted features and settings can be disabled by the user, and the EOS 7DSV will provide four different "lock" levels to keep camera settings consistent with an appropriate amount of functionality available to the user. Settings can be protected by password.
Coupled with a new barcode system, Canon hopes to put this version of the popular 7D into the hands of studio photographers looking for a streamlined workflow. Users can scan a barcode to embed specific data into the EXIF data. Wired and wireless barcode systems will be available for use with the 7DSV.
Pricing and availability
The Canon EOS 7DSV barcode kit is priced at $2599, and a body-only version will cost $1829. These configurations are both available by special order through Canon dealers. For the full press release, take a look at Canon's website.
