Sanyo today announced the newest addition to their Dual Camera lineup, the waterproof Xacti VPC-CA102YL. The pistol-grip style camera shoots high-resolution 1080/6oi videos at depths up to ten feet and takes 14.4 MP stills.
Priced $350 at launch, the Xacti is equipped with a 5x optical zoom, 2.7-inch LCD screen and rechargeable battery. The dual camera allows the user to record up to 480 minutes of 1080 full HD video and 14MP of photos on a 64GB memory card, which is sold separately.
The Xacti camera uses the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video format and has a mini-HDMI and USB port to transfer footage.
A high-speed sequential shooting mode on the camera captures up to 22 photos at seven frames per second. The camera also features a proprietary “double-range zoom” feature to allow for greater resolution while capturing distant objects. Files can be saved to SD, SDHC or ultra-high capacity SDXC memory cards. There are also multiple video and photo modes for flexibility in memory use.
The new waterproof Xacti measures 3.37 x 1.47 x 4.34 inches, weighs 5.5 ounces and will be available this month.
