Sony replaces the Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 today with the competitively priced Cyber-shot DSC-T99. With an MSRP of $249 at the time of launch, the T99 will offer a 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor, a 3.0-inch touch screen, and a 4x optical zoom lens.

The slim T99 will also be equipped with Sweep Panorama mode, a feature that captures a wide panoramic shot by combining rapidly captured images. The T99 uses Optical SteadyShot image stabilization in an effort to reduce blur in images.

Sony has included 720p HD video recording at 30 fps in the T99. Users will be able to customize the look of the camera's menus by assigning a different background color to them.
Pricing and availability
As mentioned above, the Cyber-shot T99 will cost $249 when it arrives on store shelves in September. It will be offered in violet, green, pink, black and silver.
