Panasonic takes the wraps off a new lens for their Micro Four Thirds G series cameras - an 8mm (16mm equivalent) f/3.5 fisheye. The new lens will offer a 180 degree angle of view.

Panasonic calls it the world's lightest and smallest fisheye lens weighing just under six ounces. It utilizes one ED Extra-low dispersion lens and is made up of ten elements in nine groups. The aperture has seven blades, and the lens will focus as close as 0.33 feet. True to form, Panasonic is not releasing pricing or availability information at the time of launch. They promise to announce pricing 30 days before the lenses are available.
