A firmware update for Olympus PEN digital cameras announced last week is now available for download. Owners of E-P1, E-P2 and E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds cameras can download the latest update for some improvements to auto focus performance.
After many complaints about the slow auto focus speed of the PEN cameras, Olympus issued the firmware upgrade to address this problem. They claim that the new firmware update speeds up auto focus performance of all PEN cameras by as much as 15%. The new firmware also provides more accurate auto focus tracking in the E-P2 and E-PL1, and now menus and recorded images can be viewed through EVF (E-P2 and E-PL1).
The update is free and available for download at Olympus' website.
