Sony offered PMA attendees a look at what's coming next in their Alpha lineup including a successor to the Alpha a700 DSLR and a couple of new high-end lenses.
Two new DSLR mockups on display provided a look into what Sony's planning for the mainstream consumer as well as a new DSLR to succeed the Alpha a700. The latter was displayed with a Zeiss branded lens attached as seen below.
The more compact, mainstream mock-up was displayed side-by-side with its bigger brother. Sony already offers a strong contingent of compact, beginner-friendly alpha DSLRs.
For the serious Alpha enthusiast, Sony also announced two new lenses. A Distagon T 24mm f/2 ZA SSM will offer more wide angle possibilities to the lens lineup. Next to it, the new 500mm f/4 G Super Telephoto lens was shown.
As with their simultaneous announcement of a new ultra-compact, interchangeable lens camera concept, Sony was quiet about specs and details of the new systems.
