Panasonic introduces SDXC cards

Panasonic announces today the availability of two class 10 SDXC memory cards. With 64GB and 48GB of storage space repesctively, these are the first such cards from the global electronic giant.

They've each been given a Class 10 speed specification with a maximum data transfer speed of 22MB/s. Panasonic hopes that videographers shooting in HD or still photographers shooting in RAW will snap up the new high-capacity cards. The 64GB card will allow the user to record up to around 8 hours and 30 minutes of video at full HD. The 64GB SDXC card boasts storage space for up to a whopping 18,240 recorded 12 megapixel images, and the 48GB card will hold up to about 13,470.

Be ready to spend some serious cash if you're interested in an SDXC memory card. Available globally in February, the 64GB card will cost $599.99 and the 48GB will sell for $449.95. They'll be compatible with Panasonic's the Lumix cameras and digital camcorders also announced today.
