Samsung DualView TL225 Video Preview

BY: Allison Johnson, DigitalCameraReview.com Editor
PUBLISHED: 10/29/2009

When the Samsung DualView TL225 was announced a few months ago, it inspired comments like, "Why didn't anyone think of this before?" The small LCD on the front of the camera takes the guesswork out of framing up self-portraits and group photos via self-timer. Before we get into a full review, we want to share a first look at the camera's touch interface and, of course, that front LCD.

Our first impressions of the TL225 have been fairly positive. The resolution on the rear LCD is incredibly sharp, and the front LCD does everything it promises. As evidenced in our video, the touch panel on the back is fairly responsive, though not perfect.

The question we'd like to answer is whether or not the extra features are worth more cash. The TL225 retails for $350, so you'd have no problem picking up an equally capable 12 megapixel shooter (minus the extra LCD) for much less. And a camera is only as good as the images it produces, so look for a thorough analysis of image quality and performance in our upcoming review.
