The New York Times is reporting that on June 25, New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announced that seven online camera retailers located in Brooklyn agreed to a settlement as a result of an investigation of their business practices.
The seven providers, Sonic Photo, Camera Wiz, Best Price Camera, Foto Connection, 1 Way Photo, 86th Street Photo and Broadway Photo, agreed to a $765,000 fine. Two of the providers, Sonic Photo and Camera Wiz, will close. The other five agreed to change their business practices and accept oversight. Customers seeking restitution will be able to file with the New York Better Business Bureau through December.
