Wireless memory card manufacturer Eye-Fi has just unveiled another SDHC card, the Eye-Fi Pro. It adds support for the wireless transfer of RAW files in addition to JPEG and video files. This 4GB card will also be the first to allow for ad hoc transfer of files directly from camera to computer without the use of a wireless router or internet connection.
Like the previous generation of Eye-Fi cards, the Eye-Fi Pro will allow users to transfer photos from their cameras directly several photo sharing websites. It also provides one year of unlimited uploads from any Wi-Fi hotspot and lifetime geotagging service.
Eye-Fi also announces today that all of their card users will be able to selectively transfer files from their cameras. Selecting individual photos to transfer is done in-camera by choosing to "lock" or "protect" each one. Only those protected photos will be transferred. This functionality is free and available to all existing Eye-Fi users through the Eye-Fi Manager.
