In conjunction with Tuesday's D5000 launch, Nikon announced plans to release a new 10-24mm DX-format lens in May.

The AF-S DX-NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens has a focal length of 10 to 24mm, which creates a picture angle ranging from 109-degrees to 61-degrees (FX-format equivalent of 15-36mm) – ideal for wide-angle photographs in many different settings.
The technology in the lens includes the Silent Wave Motor for quiet and fast autofocus, two extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements, and three aspherical lens elements. The extra-low dispersion glasses and aspherical lenses create a crisp picture with low distortion.
Nikon will release the lens next month, with an estimated retail price of $899.95.
