Unofficially at least, it's been "Pentax K2000 Week" around here at DCR. First, the K2000 earned high marks in our review, then faced off against the Nikon D60 in this month's Head to Head column.

And today, we received word that those of you who have been anxiously awaiting your chance to purchase the visually striking K2000 Limited Edition are in luck. This week, Pentax has opened the pre-order process for the LE model.
Notably, while the LE-designated K2000 is just a cosmetic reworking of the original, the camera does offer something unique: a two-lens kit (with the 18-55mm DA L and 50-200mm DA L lenses), instead of the lens-and-flash combo we looked at in our review.
According to Pentax's webstore, the K2000 Limited Edition kit won't begin shipping until February, but you can go ahead and plunk down your $679.95 now to reserve one of your very own.
