Nikon has rolled out a major firmware update for its D300 advanced DSLR.

A long list of interface updates and menu reshuffling leads off the list of changes with firmware version 1.10, followed by some fixes for the camera's noise reduction system when using certain combinations of settings. But the big news with version 1.10 is Nikon's claimed performance improvements in both dynamic-area AF and contrast-detection AF modes.
More information, including the complete list of changes and fixes as well as instructions for installing the latest firmware, is available on Nikon's support site, with separate versions for Macintosh and Windows users.
