Panasonic has provided official pricing and retail release information for its latest interchangeable lens camera, the compact Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1.

When we first previewed the Lumix, our contacts at Panasonic hinted that the price would be "under $800" for the kit with the new Lumix G Vario 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Not surprisingly, the G1 kit will come to U.S. retailers with a $799.95 suggested price.
Panasonic's official announcement also provided pricing details for the manufacturer's simultaneously launched Micro Four Thirds telephoto, the Lumix G Vario 45-200mm f/4.0-5.6 Mega O.I.S. The lens will retail at $349.95.
Both the G1 kit and the 45-200mm telephoto will be available for purchase in mid-November, with several online retailers already taking pre-orders for the new products.
